Short distance, but full power: sprint battles have been booming worldwide for years. The fastest can also compete in Aachen on Friday evening and win great prizes.
In the UK, special hill sprint races have become established, with cycling fans flocking to them in their thousands. The short course in Aachen, on the other hand, promises top speed - and thrilling duels.
The rules are simple: anyone can compete with any bike (there is a special classification for e-bikes), always one against one. The route for the duels is about 100-150m long. The Sprint Battle Race is planned for Friday evening - at dusk the winners will be crowned.
More details to be announced.
