Guest in Aachen: Thai Do, king of the bicycle collectors

Unfortunately, he was not present at the 3RIDES debut for health reasons, but he will be at the start in 2023: Thai Do is a full-time sales representative for Continental, and probably Germany's biggest collector of racing bikes as a sideline.

Thai Do with Junior World Champion Emil Herzog r.) and Stefan Kirchmair, World Champion of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series (l.)

Thai has collected more than 270 bikes with a total value of 1.5 to 1.8 million euros, ranging from the 1948 Bianchi from the Fausto Coppi team, with the first Campagnolo gears and rims made of bamboo wood, to Lance Armstrong's Tour comeback bike, of which only three exist. In Aachen, Thai Do will present a selection of its bikes.

If you want to check out Thai's collection in advance, you can do so with the bike club's "Outside is Free" podcast. In the podcast, Thai talks about his escape from Vietnam, his beginnings as an ambitious triathlete, a lottery win as the basis of his collection - and numerous bikes that are in his collection today.
